Your host and coach
Sean "Muay Thai Guy" Fagan.
Sean has spent his life in and around Muay Thai, from fighting professionally to building a community of thousands through Muay Thai Guy. He hosts and coaches on the ground all 11 nights, so you are never figuring things out alone. He has run these trips before and he knows exactly how to turn a group of strangers into a crew that leaves as friends.
Questions
Good to know before you book.
No. Sessions scale from complete beginner to experienced fighter. Most guests are not fighters. They are people who want to train hard, travel well and try something new.
Shared means two guests in one room, each paying the lower listed rate, perfect for couples or friends. Private means the room is yours alone.
Lodging for 11 nights, 10 training days, daily breakfast and dinner, all listed recovery sessions, two fight nights, the sunset cruise, beach dinner, Songkran outing, waterfall hike, airport transfers and hosting. Flights and lunches are not included.
Come as you are. The coaches scale everything. You'll be tired and sore in the best way, but never out of your depth.
Yes. April 13 falls mid retreat. You'll experience Thailand's biggest water festival as part of the group, a bucket list experience on its own.
Beachfront and luxury rooms are limited. Booking early in the Super Early or Early window is the only way to guarantee your preferred room and the lowest price.
Yes. Reach out and we'll sort a non training rate built around the room and the experiences.
The $500 deposit is non refundable. If you cancel, that deposit can be applied to any Muay Thai Vacations event within the next 365 days. Cancel 31 or more days before the event begins and we'll refund everything you've paid minus the deposit. Cancel 30 days or fewer before the event begins and we cannot issue a refund.
By day two, yes. Most guests arrive solo. The whole format is built to turn a group of strangers into a crew, from the welcome dinner to the shared training, the excursions and the nights out. Coming alone is the most common way people do this.
Koh Samui is a well traveled, welcoming island and the camp is a tight community with Sean and the team on the ground the entire time. Plenty of solo women have done these retreats. You are never left to figure out transport or logistics alone.
Fly into Koh Samui (USM). Plan to arrive on April 4 for check in and the welcome dinner, and depart on April 15. We schedule transportation as needed, including shuttles to and from the airport, and we'll group you with other guests arriving or departing around the same time as you so you can split the cost. Flights themselves are not included.
Many nationalities can enter Thailand visa free for short stays, but rules vary by passport and change over time. Check your country's current requirements before booking. We're happy to point you in the right direction on a Clarity Call.
Bring training clothes, hand wraps and gloves if you have them, though the camp has gear if you don't. Add light tropical clothing, swimwear, sunscreen and something for the fight nights and dinners out. We'll send a full packing list once you book.
The coaches scale every session, so you can always train lighter or rest and recover. There are clinics and pharmacies on the island and Sean's team will help you get sorted if anything comes up. We strongly recommend travel insurance for peace of mind.
Yes. The buffets include Thai and international options and the kitchen can accommodate vegetarian, vegan and most allergies. Tell us your needs ahead of time and we'll make sure you're fueled.
Guests usually range from their 20s into their 50s and beyond. There's no upper limit. What matters is the willingness to show up and train at your own level, not how old you are.
Yes, there's wifi at the camp and a local SIM is cheap and easy to grab. Plenty of guests check in with work or family. That said, most people find the best part is unplugging for a bit.
Almost everything is covered, so spending money is really for lunches, alcohol, souvenirs, massages and any add ons. Thailand is affordable. A modest budget goes a long way and ATMs are easy to find.
